Review | Maybelline The Falsies Volum' Express Mascara

Is the hype about Maybelline's The Falsies mascara really true? If you're thinking of purchasing Maybelline's new The Falsies Flared or are planning on purchasing the original, here's my review on the product I have re-purchased countless times.

What The Product Claims To Do:
Maybelline The Falsies mascara delivers a false lash look; giving you a full set of voluminous bold, fanned out lashes and the appearance of no gaps from any angle. The pro-keratin and fibre enriched formula is designed to deliver immediate results, distributing volume and visible intensity to your lashes. The patented 'spoon' shaped brush helps fan lashes out.

Packaging:
The packaging truly is very girly. The deep purple body and flash of electric blue font make this mascara stand out from other tubes on the market. The smart, effective packaging of The Falsies is a great plus and provides fantastic first impressions whilst scavenging through the Maybelline make-up stand.

The Wand:
The spoon-shaped flat wand is large enough to achieve one coat of mascara in one clean swipe, which is a feature I really like about this mascara. The wand is a little fiddly to handle because it's recommended you hold the wand with the spoon structure positioned upwards to uplift your eyelashes but is great when achieved, creating that desired 'false lash effect'. I don't like using this mascara on my bottom eyelashes, I feel that it's better suited for your top lashes as it is quite difficult to coat your bottom lashes with the spooned brush.

The photo below shows the wand as viewed from above.

The bristles are fine and make your lashes very enhanced and long without clumping like other mascaras.

The photo below shows the wand viewed from the side, this is the 'spoon shaped' wand Maybelline describe.

Long Lasting?
After curling my eyelashes prior to applying mascara, I expect a mascara to hold the curl and help my curl last all day. The waterproof formula is simply divine and does a perfect job in achieving this. Not only does it hold my curl all day, it doesn't smudge and leave dark splodges under my eyes like other mascaras I have tried. I wore this mascara on a 3 day camping trip and it stayed perfectly in tact and my eye make-up still looked fantastic despite hours of walking and sleeping.

Cost:
I bought The Falsies at Tesco for £7.99. A little pricey for a high street mascara, especially since it has been on the market for a while and hasn't budged much in price. However one tube does last me the 3 month maximum period your should keep a mascara for and the formula still remains moist.

Overall Verdict:
A previous fan of the Colossal mascara, The Falsies was a must for me to purchase. A fabulous everyday mascara which can easily be build able for fancier events. The only down point for me is that it can be tricky to remove, as all waterproof mascaras are, but with a good quality eye make-up remover this isn't such a big problem. Definitely a must-try mascara and I will continue to re-purchase!
